One of the root causes of absenteeism among Colombian youth lies in the educational disparities prevalent in rural areas. Shocking statistics from 2019 reveal that over 45% of the total population involved in the agricultural industry had only completed primary education, while just about 12% reached secondary education. This lack of access to education perpetuates a cycle of poverty and limits opportunities for young people.
